Lange & Söhne, Dresden, a first quality gold pocket watch, 20 jewels, stem wind and lever set gilt plate movement with lever escapement, diamond endstone, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings and gold timing screws in an 18 karat, reeded edge, engine turned hunting case, Roman numeral, single sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade and whip hands, serial #7935, 54mm, 165.6g TW, c1875.
CONDITION:
CASE: Minor scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Engine turning worn smooth; Has problems opening, catch does not release when crown is depressed; Bow replaced; Crown worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, light, 4:00- 4:30; Scratches minor to dial. HANDS: Oxidation, minute. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Crown wheel with scratches; Bright work with specks of oxide; Ratchet wheel with spot of oxide; Minor blisters to plating; Screw heads with minor scratches. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks), low amplitude, needs service.
